Total 10 Rapid Weight Loss
Early in January 2015, Doctor Oz unveiled a new weight loss plan called Total 10. That diet was developed throughout 2014 and was tested by over 2.5 million members of Dr. Oz’s official website.
The diet involves cutting out dairy, alcohol, processed foods, wheat, and refined sugar for two weeks at a time. Out of the 2.5 million people who tried the diet, the average weight lost was 10 pounds over just a 2 week period.
But I haven’t even told you the best part about the diet: Dr. Oz promises that you won’t feel hungry at any point during the diet. In fact, if you do feel hungry, you’re probably doing the diet wrong!
So how does this diet work? Will the Total 10 Weight Loss Plan actually help you achieve your dieting goals? Or is it just another diet fad nobody will remember a year from today?
How the Total 10 Diet Works?
During the Total 10 Diet, dieters are required to adhere to a strict diet plan for two weeks at a time. Here are the main rules about this diet plan:
— You are not allowed to eat any wheat, alcohol, refined sugars, processed foods, or artificial sweeteners

— Try to eat every one to two hours throughout the day
— You can eat as much Total 10 vegetable broth as you want throughout the day.
— Dieters weight themselves on a scale every day and “treat the scale like an ally”
— You’re allowed to drink one cup of coffee per day
Together, these rules help you achieve one simple goal: reset your metabolism. Resetting your metabolism helps your body process food more efficiently while also burning away existing fat storage. Due to sedentary lifestyles, our metabolism and appetite control hormones are often out of sync: we eat too much food when we don’t need it, and our bodies are constantly telling us we’re hungrier than we actually are.

The Best Total 10 Diet Foods and Recipes
Dr. Oz has published dozens of Total 10 food recipes on his official website. Those recipes include everything from chocolate smoothies to quinoa cereal and turkey sausage.
Here’s what the food and recipe list looks like for the Total 10 Diet:
Breakfasts: Scrambled eggs, turkey breakfast sausage, hot quinoa porridge, quinoa crunch cereal, quinoa egg muffins, huevos rancheros, caprese eggs style. Before breakfast, drink a hot cup of water with lemon to kickstart your digestion process and metabolism.
Smoothies: Berry smoothie, pumpkin pie smoothie, or chocolate-covered almond smoothie.
Protein Bowls: Mexican bowl, Italian bowl, Chinese chicken bowl, Thai chicken bowl, and Mediterranean bowl. Each bowl contains a mixture of meat (usually chicken) along with vegetables and carb-replacement foods like cauliflower rice and zucchini noodles.
Vegetable Broth: You can eat as much Total 10 vegetable broth as you want throughout the day. The broth recipe can be found here. You can also purchase a broth – or similar broth – at most grocery stores. It contains water, chopped greens, root vegetables, and squash and is packed with low-calorie vitamins and nutrients. That’s why you’re allowed to east as much of this broth as you want while taking the Total 10 Diet.

How to Maintain Diet Results After Ending the Total 10 Diet
The Total 10 Diet is designed to last for two weeks at a time. After your two weeks are up, Dr. Oz recommends slowly reintroducing certain foods based on the following schedule:
Week 1: Reintroduce Low-Fat Dairy
Week 2: Reintroduce Low-Glycemic Fruits
Week 3: Reintroduce Whole Grain Carbs
If you feel bloated, sick, or uneasy when you start reintroducing these foods, then you may have a food allergy. That’s okay! It just means you should avoid these foods in the future. One of the benefits of the Total 10 Diet is being able to identify certain foods you may be allergic to, but never knew about.
